SynDECOR® launches innovations for PVC-free decorative surfaces at Interzum 2025
Taghleef Industries will unveil the latest SynDECOR® innovations in sustainable, PVC-free decorative surfacing foils at Interzum, the world’s leading trade fair for furniture production and interior design.
As the industry faces increasing regulatory and environmental pressures, SynDECOR® offers a forward-looking alternative to conventional non-recyclable thermoset laminates (HPL, CPL, TFL) and vinyl-based (PVC) foils.
The new generation of SynDECOR® films leverages Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) to deliver high-performance, recyclable solutions that meet modern sustainability and compliance standards.
SynDECOR® is REACH-compliant, SVHC-free, and free of formaldehyde, melamine, plasticizers, and PVC. It is also designed with a low carbon footprint—just 0.25 kg CO₂ equivalent/m² for white PP film at 50 gsm—making it a standout in eco-friendly decorative materials.
We present three product categories:
– Print-Base Films
Optimized for high-definition décor printing with rotogravure, UV, and water-based inkjet technologies, SynDECOR® D features a non-porous PP surface that significantly reduces ink consumption compared to paper. It includes a functional backer for excellent adhesion to particleboard, MDF, plasterboard, and other substrates. Available in opaque white, grey, and black, with a low density of 0.91 g/cm³.
– Wear Layers
The new anti-fingerprint, soft-touch matt overlays provide durable, wear-resistant protection without post-print coating. With a gloss level of just 2.5 GU at 60°, they are available in OPP 45μ, PET 33μ, and PET 85μ. These overlays allow décor printers and laminators to produce cost-efficient roll-to-roll duplex laminates, replacing CPL and PVC while streamlining operations and reducing equipment costs.
– Decorative Foils
Designed for drawer sides, cabinet interiors, and profile wrapping, these embossed PP foils offer superior crack resistance in miter folding, excellent moisture resistance, and a clean, modern finish. Available in white and grey at 125μ, with optional electron-beam cured coatings that are water-based, solvent-free, and certified for food contact. Custom widths up to 2100 mm minimize waste and boost efficiency.
