Market background

The food sector, and natural products such as honey in particular, are increasingly focusing on packaging that conveys authenticity and quality. Consumers are looking for packaging that highlights the purity of the contents while ensuring environmental responsibility. Brands must therefore balance aesthetics, food safety and sustainability, offering solutions that strengthen customer confidence.

The Challenge

For the honey segment, the goal was to achieve a “no-label look” effect on glass jars that would enhance the naturalness of the product without compromising the functionality of the label. The challenge was to reduce the environmental impact of the packaging while maintaining high standards of quality, visual transparency and durability.
In this context, the collaboration with Avery Dennison made it possible to test and apply innovative materials, creating a mock-up that demonstrates how premium aesthetics and circularity can coexist even in the food sector.

The Solution

The answer was rcLSA, a transparent PP film developed by Taghleef Industries that incorporates ISCC Plus-certified chemically recycled content according to the mass balance approach.
Thanks to this technology, rcLSA makes it possible to:

  • Recreate the same appearance as conventional labels, with an “invisible” effect that enhances the honey
  • Offer the same technical properties in terms of printability, adhesion and durability
  • Reduce environmental impact by introducing recycled material into the supply chain without compromising on quality
Applied to honey jars, rcLSA demonstrates how a label can become a discreet but strategic element, communicating naturalness and sustainability to consumers

Conclusion

The project highlights how rcLSA represents a concrete solution for sustainable food packaging: transparent labels with certified recycled content that combine aesthetics, functionality and environmental responsibility.

Thanks to its collaboration with Avery Dennison, Taghleef Industries confirms its commitment to offering innovative solutions that help brands reduce their use of fossil resources without compromising on performance and design.
