Low Distortion after Injection Molding
Solid BOPP films, e.g. transparent and solid white, often cannot be used for IML lidding since they cause high distortion in the injected part.
To solve this issue, high thickness (65-68 µm) Cast PP films are used, but high haze and low yield are still a drawback that these films cannot overcome.

LID is the newly developed IML solution to avoid distortion of lids after injection molding process. LID, with its 55 µm thickness, features lower haze than cast PP films, allowing down-gauging and improving IML decoration economics.
LID can be used with punching and rotary die cutting, while cast PP films are only suitable for rotary die cutting. LID is fit-for-use for lids and complex shapes containers for ice-cream and dairy products.
